Dream Big
Artist and designer Pete Fecteau spent the better part of 2010 creating a mosaic of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. using 4,242 Rubik’s Cubes. The mosaic measures 18’6″ by 9’8″ and weighs approximately 1,000 pounds. This project called Dream Big.
“I woke up from the dream and it was like I was on fire. I spend three hours that morning writing down the concept and brainstorming. When I stepped back I realized how bat-s*** crazy it was but there was something pushing me to make it a reality. Sometimes I don’t think I woke up from that dream. It still seems crazy.”

ASAP Rocky: "Bass" (Prod. Clams Casino) X Out Of This World
It's looking more and more likely that buzzing Harlemite ASAP Rocky will drop his long-awaited LiveLoveA$AP mixtape soon. The word on the hip-hop Internet streets is that we'll be hearing it on Halloween, which is Monday if you didn't know. It'd be a fitting release date for the rapper, whose approach leans toward the darker side of the hip-hop realm.
His latest leak, which is his second in as many days, is one of the grimier, NYC-leaning tunes we've heard from the South-loving spitter. Rocky and producer Clams Casino are on their East Coast shit hard here on "Bass," though, and maybe we'll be hearing more tunes like this on LiveLoveA$AP.

Versace for H&M Men’s 2011 Fall/Winter Collection Lookbook
Versace’s men’s collection for H&M is a mix of slick tailoring and pieces of extravagant pattern. Suit jackets and trousers come in either black or pink, while a black tuxedo jacket has metallic tip trims on its pockets, and shirts have metallic wingtips on the collars. Versace’s palm and optical prints are used on T-shirts, as well as on thin-knit cashmere sweaters, while print is also used on velvet bombers, jeans, and even underpants.
There’s leather in the men’s collection too, with a quilted leather jacket trimmed with gold studs in the Versace classical Greek pattern, which is repeated down the sides of black cotton shorts and a rolled-sleeve T-shirt. Accessories include embellished beanies and patterned caps, embellished or print scarfs, as well as hi-top sneakers and the perfect dress shoes. All collections will be available in around 300 stores worldwide, as well as online, from the 17th of November.

Diggy Simmons f/ Jeremih "Do It Like You
Diggy Simmons has enjoyed some recognition since he first came out with his "Made You Look" video but he still has a lot to prove. The Atlantic Records signee is looking to make his mark on the game and take over the radio ariwaves with his newest single "Do It Like Me" featuring R&B crooner Jeremih. The track sounds like it's got the sound to really do some numbers for him. Listen below.

Karmin "Crash Your Party"
Looks like doing covers paid off for Karmin. The duo of Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan recently inked a deal with Epic Records under the direction of L.A. Reid and has already began recording for their debut album due out in 2012. Their debut single "Crash Your Party" features a sample from Black Sheep’s "The Choice Is Yours" and rapid-fire flows from Amy. It's cute for something being labeled Hip-Pop.
Lana Del Rey "Blue Jeans (Odd Future Remix)
Lana Del Rey's "Blue Jeans" used to be a flowing, nostalgic track. Not anymore. Syd Tha Kyd and Matt Martian, collectively known as The Internet, got behind the wheel and took this song into OFWGKTA territory. They left the vocals in tact, but the backdrop is much more Odd Future-ish.

Calling all party people. Summer may be over, but BeyoncĂ© gives us another reason to celebrate with the vibrant video for her Kanye West-produced single “Party” off her fourth album 4. The pop megastar throws a backyard bash in a trailer park with some of her best friends. Solange plays DJ, Kelly Rowland reunites with her Destiny’s Child groupmate, and J. Cole makes his way over in a blue Bugatti. But it’s B who steals the show with her funky fashion and bubbly personality. This is one party you won’t want to miss.

Chicago Magazine: Behind-the-Scenes with Virgil Abloh (Kanye West’s Style Adviser)
He calls Chicago home, but Virgil Abloh spends most of his time traveling the world as Kanye West’s art director—a job that calls for his input on everything from live shows to designing limited-edition sneakers. An architect by training, Abloh is on the frontlines of global fashion, art, and design, but his ties to Chicago stay strong: He’s an owner of RSVP Gallery, a lifestyle boutique on Damen Avenue, and a partner in @Superfun, a branding and events company, which regularly throws parties at JBar. “I make it back a week for every quarter of the year,” he says, “but I stay in tune because this is where I’m from.” On a recent trip home (fresh from Paris Fashion Week), Abloh, 30, weighed in on what’s catching his eye in men’s style this season.
“My first influences were a cocktail of growing up in the Jordan era, [watching] hip-hop videos after school, and window-shopping on Michigan Avenue.”

BASEBALL FURIES “Any jacket that has a baseball-jacket shape, I’m going to look at. No matter what. It’s a classic shape that’s rarely done well,” Abloh says. These are his picks—from classic to goth—from the fall menswear collections by (left to right) Balenciaga, Dries Van Noten, and Givenchy. Kanye West sported a Givenchy jacket during Paris Fashion Week this spring.

BMW M3 GT2 by Jeff Koons 1:18 Art Car Model
For Jeff Koons, who became widely known for his balloon animals and monumental sculptures of flowers, three-dimensional structures are nothing new. When he was asked to contribute a scale model of the BMW M3 GT2 he considered it a very special challenge, which is why he consulted with BMW head of design, Adrian van Hooydonk, on how best to model the air inlets and wings. The result of his work reflects power, movement, and light and makes viewers sing the praised of this 1:18 scale model. For those interested, this replica is available at BMW for $224 USD.

VIDEO: COMMON – BLUE SKY
Common reaches for the stars in the uplifting video for “Blue Sky,” the first single off his album The Dreamer/The Believer, due in December. The Parris-directed clip, which was shot at the Barclay Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, includes vignettes of people chasing their dreams including a violinist, ballerina, artist, and basketball player.
“We’re able to show the inspiration that the song creates,” Common told Rap-Up TV on set. “Now we’re able to take these vignettes and show people aspiring to get their dreams and that’s really what the song is about, like saying go get it.”
JAY-Z AND KANYE WEST KICK OFF ‘WATCH THE THRONE’ TOUR IN ATLANTA
It was a crowning moment for Jay-Z and Kanye West as they kicked off the Watch the Throne tour to a packed house at Philips Arena in Atlanta on Friday night (Oct. 28). The hip-hop kings, collectively known as The Throne, opened the most anticipated hip-hop tour of the year with a bang, emerging on two cube-shaped mini stages to the operatic sounds of “H•A•M.”
During the two-and-a-half hour extravaganza, each rapper took turns performing solo material and came together for their collective efforts off Watch the Throne as images of Rottweilers, tigers, and sharks filled the screens and lasers beamed across the arena.
After their joint opener, Kanye exited the stage letting Jay-Z shine on his own with “Where I’m From.” He encouraged the audience to sing along to “Empire State of Mind” and told them to throw their diamonds up as he ran through his catalog of classics including “Dirt Off Your Shoulder,” “Big Pimpin’,” and “Hard Knock Life.”
As always, Yeezy’s swagger was on a hundred thousand. The trendsetter sported a T-shirt with the beastly image of himself from the Riccardo Tisci-designed album artwork and pulled off a leather kilt while dropping hit after hit off his five albums. He appeared to be on the verge of tears during “Runaway,” pouring his emotions into the song.
“Atlanta, you are now looking at black excellence at its finest. Make some … noise!” Jay said at one point while putting his arm around Kanye.
The historic evening concluded with a powerful performance of “Made in America” as Hov asked the audience to hold up their phones and lighters in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. Jay and ‘Ye followed with “Why I Love You,” affirming their status as two of the greatest who ever did it
